Relief from Hemorrhoids

Monday, April 26th, 2010

There are many hemorrhoid treatments in this day and age.  Individuals that prefer natural remedies might feel like they have to use pharmaceutical drugs.  They may feel this way because no other option of treatment is advertised nearly as much.  But this is not true; there are several natural remedies to hemorrhoids.

There are internal and external hemorrhoids.  Internal hemorrhoids usually are present when there is painless rectal bleeding.  External hemorrhoids are present when there are lumps around the anus and there is pain or discomfort.

Hemorrhoids are created when one has a difficult time excreting stools and the veins around the anus become inflamed.  Anyone can get hemorrhoids, but it is more common in some than others.  People who are more likely to get them are those who have difficulty excreting stools, constant diarrhea, genetically predisposed, pregnancy, and being overweight.

essential oils

Using essential oils to relieve the pain and swelling of hemorrhoids is a very effective and powerful way.  Essential oils also bring about a faster recovery with no side effects.  Essential oils are better than fresh or dried herbs because they are really concentrated.  So with that being said, a lot goes a long way.

Ointments and suppositories from pharmaceutical or herbal companies can only give temporary relief.  Their relief is only temporary because they only work once they are applied and still on the skin.  Essential oils are absorbed into the blood stream and reach the root of the problem.

Before using any remedy it is always important to check for allergies to it.  This will help prevent more pain in a sensitive area.  To see if one is allergic to essential oils dab a small drop on the elbow.  Check the elbow in 24 hours for a reaction.

There are several oils that could work in relieving pain, but for hemorrhoids it is best to use lavender, cypress, and frankincense.  These three are the best because they are anti-inflammatory oils.  Use a drop of one of these oils with a teaspoon full of aloe vera extract for the remedy.

It is best to store the remedy mixture in the refrigerator for added coldness to reduce inflammation.  To apply the mixture to the area it is best to use a cotton swab or pad so that it is soft on the sensitive area.  Apply the mixture directly on the hemorrhoid and repeat the process until the hemorrhoids heal.

Essential Oils and Sinus Infections

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Sinus infections have been around since man was on the earth.  There are several remedies in the world that can help with sinus infections.  Antibiotics are the most popular, but there are natural remedies too.

Aromatherapy is a very effective natural remedy for sinus infections.  A French chemist in 1920, Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, termed using plant oils for healing as aromatherapy.  He studied how the plant’s oils had healing properties.

essential oils

Extracting plant oil is done in a process called steam distillation.  Essential oils come from distilling plant flowers, leaves, seeds, or roots.  This oil is heavily concentrated.  It is stored in glass bottles and can be bought in natural stores.

These essential oils have multiple healing properties and can be used for many ailments.  Essential oils are so effective because they trigger the body’s natural ability to heal through its scent.  So it is reasonable that they would work on sinus infections as well.

Two essential oils that work great for sinus infections are peppermint and cinnamon.  Peppermint helps with sinus congestion. Cinnamon relaxes both the circulatory and respiratory systems.

There is also this great combination of three oils for sinus infections.  Blend cinnamon, cloves, and thyme together because they all have properties to fight against sinus infections, inhibit bacteria growth, and break up mucus.  This concoction helps to cure sinus infections within three days.

There are different ways to apply the oil to relieve sinus infections.  One way is to massage the oil into the skin, but make sure to mix the concentrated oil with carrier oil.  The oil can also be inhaled using a bowl of steaming water and a towel.

There are effective concoctions that can get rid of sinus infections.  One is to use a few drops of eucalyptus, peppermint, and menthol.  Another one is to mix tea tree oil, eucalyptus, rosemary, and peppermint.  Put either one of these concoctions into a bowl with boiling water.  Then put a towel over the head and breath in the steam.  This is a very effective way to get rid of sinus infections.

Skin Essentials

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Everyone in the world today has had at least one pimple inflicting his or her life.  Acne is something that is reoccurring and natural.  Why not fight natural with natural?

There are essential oils that can help beautify the skin and fight acne.  Essential oils are a natural gift given to us by Mother Nature.  The five essential oils used for skin treatment are lavender, peppermint, sandalwood, tea tree oil, and geranium.

Sandalwood’s texture is thick and is brownish yellowish in color.  Its fragrance is a sweet, warm, woody pleasant smell.  Sandalwood is an antiseptic, astringent, rejuvenator, and has soothing properties.  Because it is antibacterial and antifungal oil, it is a great treatment on acne.  It is also handy on skin that is raw, infected, oily, or dry.

Another name for tea tree oil is the wonder oil for acne and pimples.  This oil is great for spot treatment.  Just dot some on the pimple, and it will be gone in two to three days.

essential oils

Lavender oil is one of the most versatile oils, but is especially great for the skin.  This is why the Romans always put it in their bath water.  Putting lavender in the bath water can help soothe sunburns, balance oil production, even skin tones, and clear skin.  Lavender is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic.  Lavender is an all-purpose skin care product.

Peppermint has more uses than as a fragrance or flavor.  Peppermint can purify the skin.  It can be used to treat acne and blackheads.  It can also be used for more severe skin problems like infections or diseases.

If there is an individual worrying about wrinkles, than using geranium is for them.  Using geranium along with phytessence wakame will give amazing results in reducing wrinkles.  Geranium oil can also be used for sensitive skin.

All of these essential oils do great things for the skin.  Whether they help the skin with past, present, or future problems these five essential oils can do it.  Incorporating them into skin care routines is a smart idea.

Toenail Fungus Removal Is Possible: Use Natural Essential Oils

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Things as embarrassing as toenail fungus can make our lives a little more stressful than what they already are.  Women can paint their toenails to hide it, but men do not have such luck.  Some people even avoid going to the doctor because they are so embarrassed.  Thank goodness there are home remedies for toenail fungus.

Not everyone likes to use chemical or pharmaceutical products to heal their ailments.  This is when home remedies come in handy.  Mother Nature has provided us with remedies to life’s infections and even diseases.  We just have to research what and where are things that best fit our needs.

People who are big on using only natural things will like this remedy of using natural essential oils on toenail fungus.  Of course not all natural essential oils work on toenail fungus, but there are two that are widely known.  These two natural essential oils are the tea tree oil and oregano oil.

Essential oils are distilled from various plants and are the aromatic oil that they secrete.  These therapeutic fragrant oils are widely known in the aromatherapy world.  Each essential oil has its own uses and purposes.  Essential oils are even used in cosmetics and in the culinary industry.

essential oils

The tea tree oil originates in Australia.  This oil is extracted from the leaves that grow on the Melaleuca alternifolia.  Not only is this oil potent enough to get rid of toenail fungus, but also is known as an anti-fungal and antiseptic.

Oregano oil is so wonderful at getting rid of nail fungus that many products for nail fungi removal have oregano oil in it.  Hence oregano oil is the most effective home remedy at getting ride of toenail fungus.  It is also known as an antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-parasitical, antiviral, analgesic and antifungal.

Both of these oils are readily available at natural stores.  For toenail treatment the oils should be applied daily.  If they are not applied daily, then the individual will “restart” the cleansing process.

Using essential oils for home remedies is very smart.  They are a multi-task, effective, and cost efficient remedy.  Specifically thinking about toenail fungus removal, they also spare embarrassment.

Oils Curing Cancer

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Cancer is becoming more prevalent in the present day than it was in the past.  Research grows to help find a cure for this diverse and destructive illness.  There are many possible cures like radiation, but none of them come with a guarantee.

Current research is looking into the possibility of using natural essential oils as an anti-cancer agent.  Two of the most popular natural essential oils being researched are frankincense and lemongrass.  Natural essential oils are extracted straight from their plant and usually contain the plant’s aroma.

Lemongrass essential oil is distilled from Cymbopogon citratus leaves.  Lemongrass is very abundant and effective.  Lemongrass essential oil helps to kill cancer through inducing death in the cancer cells while leaving the healthy ones alive.

natural essential oils

There was a study published in “Chemico-biological Interactions” May 2009 issue that demonstrated the effects of lemongrass oil on cancerous cells.  The study was conducted both in-vivo and in-vitro on colon cancer, neuroblastoma, breast cancer, and a connective tissue cancer.  In all cases the oil distinguished between healthy and cancer cells and induced natural cell death in only the cancerous cells.

Frankincense is extracted from the sap or resin of Olibanum trees.  These trees are mainly found in Ethiopia, Somalia, and India.   Throughout history frankincense has been a valued medical product.  Frankincense even goes back to the time when Jesus was born.  It is recorded that the wise men came and brought frankincense to Jesus.

Medical aroma therapists say that frankincense is the most effective immune system altering aromatic.  Frankincense appears to be so effective with cancer because it can distinguish between cancerous and healthy cells is an organ or tissue.  It also helps to cause the death of the cancerous cells while leaving the healthy cells alive.  Not even radiation or chemotherapy can distinguish between healthy or cancerous cells.

Frankincense contains a unique chemical compound called Boswellic acid.  This acid compound is an anti-inflammatory and repairs sun damaged skin.  It is Boswellic acids that cause a natural death in cancerous cells while leaving healthy cells alive.

These natural ways of curing cancer are a phenomenon and deserve further research.  Because using these essential oils is an alternative therapy, it is not being researched at this time.  It will take our government or large grass roots efforts to further the research of using essential oils as a therapy with cancer.

How To Make Essential Oils

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Have you ever thought about how to make essential oils?  There are several techniques of how to make essential oils.  Distillation is one of the most effective ways of extracting oils from plants.  This method uses steam to capture the oil.  Once the oil is captured, the steam condenses and then the water and oil are separated.

If you only want pure natural oil, the distillation method is for you.  Because it uses steam, there are no chemicals used to extract the oil.  As a result, the final product contains no residue or lingering chemicals, you just get pure natural oil.

The distillation method has three parts to it, so there are three pieces of equipment.  There is the retort or still where the steam begins.  The second piece is the condenser where vapor turns into fluid.  The last piece that holds the water and oil is called the separator.

The plant and the steam come in contact in the retort or still.  There are three methods for the water to extract the oil in the distillation method.  Two methods are hydrodistillation where the plant sits in boiling water or the plant can sit on a screen above the water using the wet steam method.  The third is the dry steam method where the water is in a separate container and the steam enters the bottom of the retort through a pipe.

essential oils

The heat from the steam opens up the fibers of the plant and the water gathers the oils out.  The steam and oil combination then go through the condenser.  The condenser can be a copper pipe or tube.  Its purpose is to allow the heat to escape quickly allowing the water to condense back into liquid form.

Once the water and oil have turned back into liquid form, they are gathered into the separator.  The separator is usually made out of glass.  Here the water and oil rest and separate. Once the oil rises to the top, it is bottled separately from the water.

Depending on the type of plant used, the water left over may have some uses.  In the example of lavender, the water still contains its sweet perfume.  This water, hydrosol, can be used to freshen laundry, linens, or the air.

Being able to make essential oils in your own home is very rewarding. You can do it as a hobby or buy the essential oils from commercial companies. The method of distillation is very effective and produces pure oil.

Aromatherapy Seventh Heaven

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Aromatherapy has been described as a trip to seventh heaven.  There are numerous aromas that are available for various uses.  After the application, each fragrance has its own result.

Aromatherapy has such a profound effect on individuals because of the essential oils that are used.  These oils allow the feeling of relaxation, relief, and being refreshed.  Essential oils are the heart of aromatherapy.

Many people go to the super market and don’t look at the ingredients in the product they are buying.  The same holds true with Health and Beauty stores.  Not all bottled essential oils are without by-products.  Some oils might have residue of chemicals because of the way it was extracted.  It is always important to read the label and verify that it is pure oil.

The oil is extracted straight out of the plant through various methods.  This oil is then mixed with water and other oils for application.  If the oil wasn’t mixed with oil or water, it could be very hazardous because an individual could absorb too much.

essential oils

The oil makes its way into the blood stream where it was applied.  This gives the area a soothing relief.  The soothing could be for physical, mental, or spiritual relief.  The oil has so many uses from sore muscle relief to reducing stress.

Essential oils for aromatherapy can be found at many stores.  An individual can apply it him or herself.  They could also have their loved one do it.  For an added bonus a book on applying techniques would be a nice touch too.

For a professional touch, one could always go to a masseuse.  Masseuses have been taught and trained how to use what oils where and how much.  They often have added specials of music, dim lighting, and warm rocks to intensify the effects.  They truly make aromatherapy an art.

Essential oils are the things that make aromatherapy.  Without them no one would feel like they were healing through aromatherapy.  Their effect is intense and real.  The healing that comes from aromatherapy is beautiful and natural.

Anxiety Remedies

Monday, April 12th, 2010

In today’s economy it is very easy to have anxiety and nervousness.  It is stressful having to worry about paying bills and finding jobs.  If one’s anxiety is severe and they need help, they probably won’t have enough money to pay doctors and prescriptions for relief.  There is a cheaper and more natural way of relief through aromatherapy with essential oils.

Effects of anxiety and stress may only feel like mental ones, but there are physical ones as well.  Some physical symptoms include rapid breathing, increased heart rate, and nausea.  Mental symptoms include dread, fear, and worry.  These essential oils will help diminish or alleviate both mental and physical effects of anxiety: patchouli, lavender, roman chamomile, ylang ylang, and clary sage.

Patchouli is a member of the mint family and has a warm earthy aroma.  This fragrance has a calming effect to soothe the soul from the stresses of every day life.  Patchouli helps the nervous system through reducing tension, anxiety, and insomnia.  It is also used as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, antiviral, aphrodisiac, astringent, and tonic agent.
essential oils
Out of all the essential oils, lavender is the most versatile and widely known oil.  Lavender is from the Roman word “to wash” because the Romans added the herb to their bath water for the perfume and therapeutic abilities.  Lavender specifically helps to reduce anxiety, stress, and promotes sleep.

Roman chamomile oil is one of he oldest known oils used in Egypt and the Mediterranean countries.  This oil’s fragrance has been described as apples and straw.  The purpose of this oil is to relax the nervous system.  It also helps digestive problems like colic, gas, pains, and even ulcers that come from anxiety.  Roman chamomile is so effective that it was put into the story line of Peter Rabbit after his stressful day in Mr. MacGregor’s garden.

Ylang ylang is often used as a cheaper substitute to jasmine.  It is also used as an aphrodisiac.  In Indonesia they spread the sweet and exotic floral pedals across the beds of newly wed couples.  Ylang ylang is also great for anxiety even as severe as panic attacks.  It also helps to reduce rapid heartbeats, high blood pressure, and frigidity.

Clary sage’s aroma is fruity, floral, and earthy.  Some of its many uses are to help calm the nervous system in times of depression, insomnia, stress, and deep tension.  There are some records that show it aids in relaxing the spasms of asthma.

Using essential oils to relieve anxiety has been around for centuries and has proven that it works.  One could even make a concoction of oils to enhance their effect.  Essential oils work to reduce the effects of anxiety and are much cheaper than a prescription.

Essential Oils Aid in a Comfortable Pregnancy

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Now just like with anything else during pregnancy, the woman should always consult her doctor before beginning use.  It is not recommended that she use any essential oils during the first trimester because in the first twelve weeks the baby is developing essential organs.  There have been no conclusive studies that show either negative or positive effects on the baby.  So to play it safe, she should not use oils.

Using essential oils during the second and third trimester are just fine and can help alleviate or avoid many discomforts.  Even though pregnant women feel drained and tired, they might have a hard time sleeping.  Essential oils will be able to help with this and with things like constipation.  The four most common oils to use are: lavender, mandarin, ylang ylang, and neroli.

Lavender oil is so versatile that it can prevent or reduce many discomforts.  Headaches and migraines can be relieved through lavender.  A lot of pregnant women have a hard time sleeping, put a few drops of lavender on her pillow and watch her fall into slumber.  Lavender can also help with constipation, urine development, back pain, and relieving a cold.

essential oils

Mandarin oil has a mild but pleasant citrus sent that would help lighten up her mood and up a smile on her face.  It also has anti-septic abilities that will help soothe sores caused by constipation.  If she has respiratory problems, mandarin oil can help relieve her discomfort.  Mandarin oil also helps with cramps and ensures correct liver bile function.

If she needs a little more Zen in her life, ylang ylang is what she needs.  Ylang ylang helps to relax by giving a sense of peace and well being.  Because of this ylang ylang is great with reducing depressive feelings, anxiety, and nervousness.

The fourth most common oil used is neroli.  Neroli helps with settling the digestion system and regulating bowel movements so it is great for diarrhea.  It can also help with depression, fear, shock, and stress during pregnancy.

There are several ways to use these oils to alleviate the various discomforts of pregnancy.  She could mix 5 to 6 drops into a bath or put 2 to 3 drops on her pillow before bed.  Much like incense she could burn the oil using 4 drops oil to 2 teaspoons of carrier oil and burn it.  She could also use a compression dipped in a bowl of water that had 3 drops of oil mixed in it to relax.

Pregnancy is a beautiful and terrifying experience.  The creation of life within a woman growing and developing is a miracle, but there are so many potential things that can go wrong.  The mother may have fears of what lies ahead.  The fact that her hormone levels change during pregnancy only adds to her negative responses of these fears.  Using essential oils will calm and diminish any discomfort that pregnancy brings.

Lavender 101

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

The effects that lavender has had on the culinary industry are indisputable.  Its soft perfume intensifies crème brulee, custards, ice creams, and compliments biscuits and fruit salads.  It is almost second to saffron, but lavender has more uses than just in the kitchen.  Medically speaking lavender has a value that is incalculable.

Among all of the essential oils, lavender is one of the most versatile.  Individuals who use essential oils probably have lavender in their cabinets for its versatility. Because lavender is one of the most versatile among the essential oils, its consumers are just as diverse.  The consumers can range from the elderly with aches and pains to athletes, pregnant women, or anyone that is stressed.  Lavender is great for skin, sedating nervous, relaxing muscles, helping digestion, and reducing inflammation.

Lavender is great for acute problems with skin.  Lavender heals skin through tissue regeneration, reduces inflammation, and is an antiseptic.  For these reasons lavender is great for acne, stretch marks, blotches, burns, scars, eczema, insect bites, and itching.  Lavender can even eradicate lice.  For use just put two to three drops on the infected, irritated, or injured area.

essential oils

Stress comes in many forms and is caused by many reasons.  Lavender can help reduce stress by promoting better sleep, so it is great for individuals with insomnia.  Another way lavender can reduce stress is by calming anxieties and nervousness.  It is also great at reducing irritability and depressive moods.  It also relieves migraines because it reduces the blood pressure.  To use lavender for these uses massage area, use in aromatic bath, or in a diffuser.

If an individual has digestive difficulties, then lavender is great for them.  Lavender is an antispasmodic, so it increases gastric juices and intestinal mobility.  It is great for reducing flatulence, nausea, and digestive spasms.  Mix two drops of lavender with a half spoonful of sugar or one spoonful of vegetable oil or honey.  Drink this concoction three times a day and enjoy the relief.

Lavender is great for athletes because it relieves muscle, tendon, and joint pain.  It relaxes muscles, reduces inflammation, and soothes pain.  It can also be used for cramps or rheumatism.  The best way to apply lavender in these situations is to massage two to four drops with one spoonful of vegetable oil on the pain.  Another less effective way would be to take an aromatic bath of lavender.

Infections are no match against lavender.  Because lavender is an anti-bacterial and antiviral essential oil, it is great against urinary infections.  It is also used against respiratory infections like bronchitis, coughing, laryngitis, and on some tonsillitis.  To fight against infections drink two drops of lavender three times a day.

Although lavender is so versatile, just like anything else too much of a good thing can be bad.  When taking lavender prolonged use or large doses is not recommended.  Women in the first quarter of their pregnancies are prohibited from using it.  Children younger than three months are not allowed to take lavender.

Natural Ways to Seek Your Fountain of Youth

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

We are all searching for our own fountain of youth to be rid of facial wrinkles.  Even though wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process, having them can make us feel tired and old. Luckily, there are several natural ways to reverse this aging process right in your own home.

In learning how to reverse the effects of aging, first we should understand why wrinkles occur.  Wrinkles in the skin are caused by many things.  Some of the major culprits for causing wrinkles are: routine and constant facial expressions, simply growing older, damage from the sun, lack of hydration, smoking, or making contact with other free radicals like pollution.  The following suggestions may help to reverse some of the signs of aging.

First, let’s talk about beauty regiments.  Regularly washing your face and using age-appropriate skin care are the first steps.  The cleaning and moisturizing of the face is an anti-aging process in itself. Keeping your skin clean actually sheds off old skin and literally keeps your face younger and fresher.

organic essential oils

But what about doing more than just cleaning/moisturizing skin? When the basic regiment is not enough, consider using organic essential oils as part of your quest to anti-aging. The usage of organic essential oils is more commonly called “aromatherapy.”  Aromatherapy can use organic essential oils to help reduce fine lines because these essential oils are loaded with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, and calcium for the skin.

To apply organic essential oils, carrier oils are needed.  This is because essential oils are too concentrated for direct application to fine lines and wrinkles.  Age-defying organic essential oils can be found in most health-food and drug stores or where aromatherapy products are sold.

Another approach in finding younger skin is through the prevention of fine lines and wrinkles. Long term prevention of winkles starts by doing small simple things.  Some preventative methods are, using sun screen, drinking more water, and living a healthier lifestyle in general.

Because the sun can cause damage to the skin, using sun screen lotions on your face will help prevent wrinkles.  UV rays can harm the surface of your skin and penetrate several layers deep, making sun screens paramount for younger looking skin. Some dermatologists recommend using sun screen lotions that are gentle on delicate facial skin.

So how can drinking water prevent wrinkles? A lot of the sagging that occurs in skin can be due to a lack of hydration.  Drinking more water can rejuvenate saggy skin and keep wrinkles from appearing.

In general, healthy living will help keep wrinkles from showing up whither this is done by using anti-aging treatments, avoiding sun damage, or increasing your body’s hydration.

How to Manage Stress

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Stress is a regular part of life.  Through change and everyday living, stress is experienced.  Even though everyone experiences stress, the effect of stress will vary greatly depending on the individual experiencing it.  And likewise, coping mechanisms for stress widely differ. The effect and management of stress will first depend on the type of stress.

There are two types of stress: acute and chronic stress. Acute stress comes and goes quickly and is only short term no matter the intensity. Chronic stress is long lasting. A person can experience chronic stress for weeks, months or even years.

natural essential oils

Managing these two types of stress can be the key to improving a person’s quality of life. If stress is left unchecked, it can lead to depression, disease, and general dissatisfaction with life.  There are many methods for stress management.

One of the biggest acute stressors is busy schedules.  People often lament that they are stressed out simply because they are unable to complete all of their daily tasks. This kind of stress could be better controlled by prioritizing.

Prioritizing can be as simple as a reevaluation of what is important in a daily or weekly “to-do” list.  Often times people are consumed with unimportant activities, and consequently, the more vital parts of an agenda are left off, causing more stress.  As a schedule is properly prioritized, significant items will get checked off first and undone items will only cause minimal stress.

So what about chronic stress? What is to be done for the kind of stress that doesn’t go away after a busy day is over? These kinds of stresses can be managed through simple but effective methods.

One way to manage chronic stress is through regular exercise. Exercise gets the blood flowing through the body. The exercise should be fun if the goal is stress relief.  Some people choose yogic exercise because of the relaxation of mind and body that it offers.

Another great way to manage long-term stress is through the usage of natural essential oils.  Some natural essential oils can be used topically, or infused into living/work spaces to help relax the body.  Some natural essential oils have a calming effect that can trigger relaxation in the brain. Natural essential oils can be found in any health food/drug store and a wealth of information can be found online about the stress relieving properties of these essential oils.

Essential Oils 101

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

You may have noticed the words “essential oils” in so many marketed products these days. Essential oils are being advertised on makeup, hair care, lotions and so many other products. So what are essential oils and why are they important? How can a person distinguish between essential and other oils? And what are their benefits?

First, in defining what essential oils are it’s important to know that these oils are not new just because they are being promoted in many basic household items. Essential oils have been useful to societies for thousands of years! However, recent research has shown that the usage of these oils may have many benefits; this is why you may see essential oils being featured on products.

There are two different ways to create oils and thus, two types of oils. Regular fragrance oils are created synthetically. Essential oils are always derived from plants naturally. Oils from natural plants must be extracted through either a distilling or expressing process. Water or cold-press is used in the extraction process to remove oil from any part of the plant (i.e. leaves, stems, flower, peel, bark, wood, roots, seeds, resin).

essential oils

So why should we care if our oils are essential or not? The answer is in the creation process of the oil. Because of the way essential oils are developed, they are highly concentrated and pure.

Furthermore, a regular fragrance oil has the purest portion of the oil “watered down,” making it less effective. You will know a product is not just regular fragrance oil if it specifically states on the packaging or in the contents the words “essential” in describing the oil.

One of the great uses of essential oils is in the home. Some essential oils will actually repel pest. Other essential oils will naturally freshen living spaces. You can maintain your home without hash chemicals in using essential oils.

Aside from household uses, essential oils may help improve body function. Certain types of essential oils can bring healing to parts of the body. People with allergies should consult a physician before topical use.

Finally, one of the most common uses of essential oils is in stress management. Certain kinds of essential oils can relax the mind. These essential oils can help to release mental tension because of their calming sent.
